Please call to learn more about life at Baton Rouge Lutheran School. We would be delighted to have your family attend a weekly open house event and enjoy a personal, one-on-one tour of our campus, but we will also work with you to provide a tour on another day or another time that is just right for your family.

Weekly open houses are held each Thursday classes are held, October-March.  Tours available any day by phoning (225-272-1288) or e-mailing ( to make certain a tour guide will be on-site.

We would be honored to share information about the many opportunities we provide to help our students excel using their unique God-given gifts. When you meet our students and staff we feel certain you will sense the courtesy and genuine kindness that has been part of every day at Baton Rouge Lutheran School since we were founded in 1957.

Hopefully, you have already heard or seen something that has interested your family in Baton Rouge Lutheran School. Nothing can compare to actually meeting the people who make our school special so, please, plan to visit our campus and experience the quiet joy that is at the center of each school day.

Students are motivated to learn in an atmosphere of trust and love with the support of their teachers and fellow students. And, each student is only limited by their own desires and efforts to experience all that we offer as a Christ-centered school. When asked what we offer prospective students, we answer “Education Anchored in Christ.”  A truly Christian, love-filled  environment is what makes our school special.

But, we also offer opportunities that are lacking at some other schools.  At Baton Rouge Lutheran we still offer all of the extras that can make learning fun! If a student wants to play a sport or be in a club, play a musical instrument or enjoy singing, get involved with using technology to take photos or craft a school yearbook, he or she is welcome to participate in on-campus activities.

We encourage student exploration through artistic expression, foreign language experiences (grades 6-8), and service to others in our community. Still, academics come first. We work diligently with our students to make certain they appreciate the importance of a solid base of knowledge and skills and try our best to motivate each to apply themselves to build that strong foundation.
